Two Federal Agents, One Thermal Camera
Buried under the triangle story: U.S. government special agents are now filing their own UAP reports — one with thermal video of two slow-moving shapes reading black-hot against the sky.
The Afghanistan triangle took the headlines out of Friday's release. The more consequential material is duller and much harder to wave away.
Among the 41 files are accounts from two U.S. government special agents. One documented an afternoon encounter with thermal video showing two slow-moving infrared anomalies reading *black-hot* — colder than the sky behind them. 1
Separately, a civilian reported three distinct sightings inside a five-hour window somewhere in the western United States, and the file includes a phone interview with a second witness corroborating the account. 1 The tranche contains FBI records of sightings from this year. 13
The part that matters
Almost every argument about this subject for eight years has run aground on the same sandbar: the people reporting are aircrew, the sensors are classified, and the analysis happens where nobody can check it.
Federal agents filing incident reports is a different category. These are people whose job is documenting things for evidentiary use, working to a standard of contemporaneous record-keeping, on the ground, with equipment that gets published.
A thermal camera does not care what anyone believes. It records a temperature differential, and *black-hot* is a measurement — not an adjective.
And the obvious caution
Thermal imagery is one of the easiest sensor products to misread. Birds, balloons and distant aircraft all present as anomalous when you cannot establish range, and cold-looking objects against a colder sky are exactly the case where an untrained eye goes wrong. Nothing in the release indicates the footage has been through AARO's analysis chain. 2
That is the standing problem with all five tranches: the government is publishing raw material faster than anyone is adjudicating it. Volume is not resolution — but it is, at least, checkable, which the previous fifty years were not. 4
